Founded by Division I softball players and led by coaches with experience competing and coaching at elite levels, Jr. Cougs is Central Oregon’s premier travel softball development program. Our mission is to develop complete softball players—athletes who combine strong fundamentals, advanced skills, high softball IQ, and the confidence to make smart, decisive plays in competitive situations.

We believe great players are built through intentional instruction, consistent work, and a commitment to continuous improvement. From teaching the foundational skills of the game to developing advanced techniques, field awareness, situational understanding, and strategic decision-making, our coaches meet players where they are and challenge them to reach their full potential. We strive to develop not only high-caliber athletes, but also resilient competitors, dedicated teammates, and leaders who understand what it takes to succeed both individually and as part of a team.

Jr. Cougs is designed for players and families seeking a challenging, competitive softball experience. We emphasize accountability, teamwork, coachability, and a team-first mindset. As players progress, they will learn the value of mastering specific positions, understanding their roles, and making decisions that benefit the entire team. Positions and playing opportunities are earned through skill development, performance, preparation, and the needs of the team. Our coaches make these decisions with the goal of maximizing individual growth while building a cohesive, competitive team.

Participation in Jr. Cougs requires a shared commitment from players and families to the program’s standards, development process, and team goals. We ask our families to trust the coaching process, embrace constructive feedback, and support the team as we work together toward a common purpose.
